Rebecca Striplet B&W recipies

Techniques:  I used the black and white filter that comes with the iphone 5s. I picked the one that has a small amount of darkness, but not the one that makes the black really dark. I wanted the one with some gray shading. I chose to be behind the sun rather then in front, I did not want there to be a glare in the picture.

Strategies: I chose to center my subject, which is the person walking away. I wanted to make it clear that he was the subject. It is rather interesting that the other two people were portrayed. We were standing on top of a hill. The way that the photo looks like a flat surface was also out of my control

Recipie: I wanted to capture a moment in the snow, rather then just nature being nature, I wanted to show an interaction with it. In the midst of sledding with my family I realized it would be a perfect moment. I chose the middle black and white filter on the phone, centered my subject and clicked away.
