I utilized many techniques throughout my collection but I especially used movement to bring my collection together. I wanted the viewer to see my subject as "two" so I showed either one subject moving, appearing as two in one shot, or (what I did in this particular POW) using two subjects as the central focus point instead of one. In this particular photograph, I used two pairs of feet in order for the viewer to concentrate on more than one subject. I started the shooting the panorama aimed at my feet and then I moved it slowly, catching some of the floor space, and then I eventually stopped by catching another person's pair of feet, up to her waist. I thought this allowed for two subjects to take central focus on either side of the photograph. With editing this photograph, I relied heavily on the colors of the outfits that belonged to the two pairs of feet. I highlighted the outfits and allowed the shoes to blend into the ground. The jeans on the top of the picture "starts" the picture while the flannel on the other end of the photograph "ends" the picture. Both pairs of feet blend into the ground but allow a sense of continuous movement, where your eyes keep following the picture from one end to the other. Your eyes tend to keep going back and forth like a see saw especially because the picture appears curved and it seems like there is no end. In a way, its kind of like a game of ping pong, where you just have to keep going back and forth. This technique resonates with the feeling I wanted the viewer to experience as well. I think that memories can be replayed over and over again in our heads, we bounce them back and forth in our minds until we are satisfied with how much we are trying to remember them. Not only in this particular POW but in the entire collection, I wanted to recreate memories in one frame. When you see a memory in your mind, you do not see it still but in motion. Therefore, I created movement within most of the photographs so that if it were possible to capture memories and moments, this is how they would be captured.
